Training
Through training, Rotarians can learn about Rotary and prepare for their leadership roles in order to accomplish much “Service above Self “
District 6780 has formed a District Training team for District events. The committee chair is
Patty Daughtrey( VOLPAT1@aol.com ). Committee members are Bob Lash, Christine Barrett,
Joan McIntee, Barbara Hood, and Leslie Duncan.
Training for club leaders and members consists of many events. These are:
- District Leadership Academy (DLA)
DLA is designed to provide intensive trining for Rotarians who are thought to have high potential for future leadership positions within the District. Prospective members are nominated by clubs and a selection committee selects the new students for each training year. This is a premier program that has been in place for decades and is hightly recognized by other Rotary Districts. Click on the side bar to learn more about the District Leadership academy
Presidents-elect Mid South Training Seminar (P.E.T.S)
Prepares presidents-elect of the District 6780 Rotary clubs for their term. In recent years it has been held during March in Nashville TN, and is jointly held with other districts in the Mid South. PE attendance is manatory. Click on the sidebar for more information about the next PETS seminar.
- District Team Training Seminar(DTTS)
This is a new event for District 6780, beginning in CY 2008. PE’s,AG’s and District Committee Chairs will meet for Leadership training. This meeting is in early March and attendance by invitation only..
District Assembly (DA)
Prepares incoming club leaders for their year in office along with other interested Rotarians. Clubs can select rotarians to attend, but the target group is the incoming officers. In District 6780, the Assembly has been held in Cookeville Tn. on a Saturday in the third week of May. Click on the side bar for more information about the next District Assembly
District Midyear Leadership Retreat (MYLR)
Provides Assistant Governors and other district leaders to review the clubs progress toward District and RI goals. Current Assistant Governors review of ongoing tasks and projects and interact with Other District leaders. The event is generally held in February. Attendance is by invitation. - Multi District AG Seminar
Trains incoming and current assistant governors in technique with trainers from multiple districts with our Zone. This one day training outlines required reports for the next Rotary year. It generally is held one day before the PETS seminar at the same location.
District Membership Seminars
Prepares club and district leaders along wit Interest Rotarians to support membership activities at the club and district levels
Zone 29/30 Rotary Institute
Brings current and past RI officers up to date on the latest Rotary developments, including RI policies and programs, and provides a forum for suggestions and ideas Click on the link for the latest information
