PEACE SCHOLAR CANDIDATES SOUGHT
One Candidate To Be Selected

Rotary World Peace Fellowships are designed to support individuals pursuing a master's degree program in international relations, sustainable development, peace studies, or conflict resolution. Up to 60 Peace Fellows will be selected study at one of six Rotary Centers for International Studies at universities in the U. S., Japan, Argentina, England, and Australia. Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree, have at least 3 years related full-time work experience, and be proficient in more than one language.

Each district may nominate only one candidate each year. Rotarians and family members are not eligible. District 6780 has been fortunate to have had two Peace Fellows, Brigitta von Messling (Tullahoma) and John Foster (Chattanooga) selected in previous years.

Applicants must be approved by local clubs before review at the district level. The district application deadline for the 2009-2011 program is April 15, 2008, so clubs should plan to complete their own application review process during March.

More information and application materials can be found on the district website www.rotary6780.org and the RI web site at www.rotary.org. Questions should be addressed to Fred Martin (Farragut), District Peace Fellows committee chair, at fred091745@comcast.net.
