November 9 is almost here! That's the deadline for Rotarians and guests to make reservations to join the celebration of Our Rotary Foundation! The dinner party will be held Friday evening November 16 at the beautiful Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville. We will celebrate the success of our Star Clubs and the Rotarians who have made significant and long-term commitments to our Foundation. District 6780 Rotarians gave more than $500,000 during 2006-2007! Please mail checks to AG Beth Stubbs; 1313 Kensington Drive, Knoxville, TN  37922.  The cost is $50 per person, with checks payable to Rotary District 6780.

Halloween at Hamilton Place

Henry as Caesar"I came, I saw, I ruled"

Henry Pate's employer (USXPRESS) encouraged employees to dress for the occasion on Halloween. As "emperor" of the Hamilton Place Club, Henry took full advantage!

According to the banner in the background, Hamilton Place has been a STAR club three years and is a Globe Club.

Henry is the District 6780 chair for "On To Los Angeles" and is planning for the Rotarians and guests from our district to have lots of fun and fellowship at the International Convention.

If you are in the Chattanooga area at noon on a Wednesday, check out the fun and fellowship of the Hamilton Place club.

Governor Gets Shot At West High School!

Goivernor Gets ShotFlu Shot Saturday a Growing Success!
Members of the seven Knox County Rotary Clubs participated with volunteer physicians and nursing students in giving flu shots to 7600 area residents, who came to one of five schools in the Knoxville area to receive free vaccinations and donate $44,000 to the Empty Stocking Fund.

Rotarians assisted by directing traffic, filling syringes, receiving donations, and distributing paperwork. At West High School, the DG received his shot from Dr. Montgomery, who implored him to encourage other Rotary clubs to expand this program to their counties. If your club is interested in how this works, contact the DG and ask to arrange for a program on how it works. It was started by Dr. Charlie Barnett, a member of the Farragut Rotary Club.

Additional sponsors for the event include Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, Summit Medical Group, St. Mary's Health System, Clayton Bank, the Clayton Family Foundation, Provision Health Care and the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

The DG also visited with Rotarians at Farragut High School, Austin East High School, South Young Middle School and Halls High School. Another great example of Rotarians enjoying fellowship while changing the world!!
