All Club Presidents, Paul Harris Society Members, Major Donors, and Bequest Society members should have received a personal invitation to the Foundation Celebration dinner on November 16. For the Club Presidents, please try to send a representative from your club, if you are unable to attend. This year we want to celebrate the success of our Star Clubs, as well as those who have made significant and long-term commitments to the Foundation.  Our District raised over $500,000 during 2006-2007, and we want you to come and celebrate this momentous time in our District. The deadline of November 9 is approaching. Please mail checks to AG Beth Stubbs; 1313 Kensington Drive, Knoxville, TN  37922.  The event is November 16 at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville and the cost is $50 per person, with checks payable to Rotary District 6780.

Vocational Service Month Visit

Bradley Sunrise Leaves Hospital for Visit!

Bradley Sunrise Rotarians had a club meeting at the Southeastern Stair and Millwork company to observe Vocational Service Month. Owned by Cleveland businessman Lamar Orr, the company manufactures custom-made wood and metal staircases. The club was treated to a tour of Mr. Orr's facilities for a first-hand look at his operation.

Street Painting Festival Draws 192 Artists

The eighth annual Street Painting Festival, organized and hosted by the Rotary Club of Oak Ridge, was held October 20-21at Roane State's Oak Ridge Campus. The weather was perfect for the 192 artists who chalked 127 sidewalk squares, which were sponsored by individuals, companies and organizations donating from $100 to $2500. The festival raised more than $16,000 for scholarships for Roane State Community College students who are not eligible for state lottery scholarships.

First, second and third places were awarded in a host of categories for individuals and teams from elementary through high school and for amateurs and professional artists.

UT Knoxville Rotaract Sponsors Fundraiser

Jazz for Justice 

The UT Rotaract Club is co-sponsoring a Jazz for Justice fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8 PM, at the World Grotto on Market Square in downtown Knoxville. The Rotaract club is working to raise money for the Northern Uganda Girls Education Network. UT Rotaract President, Erin Bernstein, visited Uganda this past summer and will return in January to spend her 2nd semester of study. She has seen firsthand the huge need for education support in Uganda. Under her leadership, the Rotaract Club has made a commitment to raise $2,500 to assist this effort. Tickets cost $15 per adult and advance tickets are available at Worldgrotto.com.
